Local people volunteering to help their own community
If you would like to refer someone to the Village Agent Scheme, would like to Volunteer or have any questions about the scheme please contact us, we will endeavour to respond within two working days.
More volunteers are needed to become Village Agents throughout West Berkshire.
We would like there to be Village Agents in every parish in West Berkshire. If you would like to help your local community, enjoy talking to people and have a common sense approach to life, we would love to hear from you.
The commitment for Village Agent volunteers is two to three hours per week.
Training includes the policies of the scheme, listening skills, personal safety and referral procedures. All volunteers receive ongoing training, plus support at team meetings with existing Village Agents and from the coordinator.
West Berkshire Volunteer Village Agent scheme is an exciting new project working with existing agencies and organisations for the benefit of local people. If you are interested in becoming a Village Agent for your local parish, please contact our project coordinator, Gill Comley for a chat, telephone (01635) 581001, mobile 07775 366812, or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
"As a village agent I take pride in being able to help local people improve their quality of life. In creating and maintaining links between different sections of the community I have met new people and renewed acquaintances with others, and enjoy feeling more involved in my locality. It really is heart-warming to be able to make a difference, even in a small way." - Penny, Kintbury Village Agent.
